An Ecuadorian Wedding Party | Jose & Sanja
When I got the call from Sanja and she told me about their upcoming wedding in a few weeks, right away I knew this was going to be a great fit.
An Ecuadorian and South African couple, breaking many of the traditional norms in Ecuador is right up my alley. They were doing this all the way they wanted, making their day unique to them and I was honoured to be part of the process.
We were prepared for rain during the shoot as the forecast had been calling for it but the afternoon of the shoot had clear skies and beautiful light.
As soon as Jose & Sanja arrived I felt the first raindrop, followed shortly by a consistent downpour for the rest of the afternoon.
However, this didn’t stop us from having a great session. The rain made the session unique, the streets were cleared and falling rain gave us a beautiful look to this wonderful celebration.
In the stunning UNESCO historic centre of Cuenca, these guys looked incredible and unbothered by the rain.
We moved on to the second location, a recent addition to my new favourite restaurant’s list in town, Homenaje, which opened about 3 months ago. This fusion restaurant was the perfect venue for their wedding party. A beautifully converted building with big spaces, lots of ambience, interesting artwork scattered throughout, a well stocked bar and chefs that know their way around the kitchen.
Here, friends and family gathered for a night of food, drinks, dancing and good times.
This was such a fun event for me to be part of. I had my wife by my side assisting me and I got to watch everyone celebrate this wonderful couple on their special night.
Wishing them all the best for their future.
